James moved to Huntington Beach when he was five years old, eventually attending Edison High School. After that, he received a Bachelors in Psychology from Pitzer, one of the Claremont Colleges and a Masters in Information Science from Claremont Graduate University. Along the way, he achieved the rank of First-Degree Black Belt in Karate. Currently, he lives in Long Beach and is pursuing his Helicopter Pilot’s license.
With a strong focus on entrepreneurship, James has extensive experience working in the information technology and services industry.
Supporting IT is part of James’ DNA. His first job was at the age of 16 was working for Logic Domain, a software engineering firm in Irvine.
James founded an information technology company in his college dorm room.
His firm was one of the first organizations to set up webmail with built in Antivirus. Using Linux Servers, they built and managed Websites, provided Onsite and remote IT services, built computers and consulted on network security

James has owned two businesses in Huntington Beach and has 27 years of experience with Search & Rescue.

In his time off, James is an avid off-roading enthusiast, spending time in Moab and Big Bear. He also enjoys hiking throughout Southern California.
Chris Shirran is a co-founder and the vCIO of Unite Information Technologies. Business Leaders seek out Chris for his extensive IT expertise and industry knowledge.

Currently, Chris lives in Orange County with his wife and daughter.
Chris has a Bachelors in Sociology and a Masters of Public Administration from California State University Long Beach (CSULB), with a focus in Public Policy Analysis and Non-Profit Management.
He is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working in Information Technology and its application to small and medium sized businesses. He is skilled in Network Security, Organizational Leadership, Information Technology, Logistics Management, and Non-Profit Management.

Chris has served on the Board of Directors for Huntington Beach Search and Rescue Explorers.
Chris is a proponent for volunteering, and has served as a technical consultant for many non-profit boards, as well as a direct volunteer for several state and local emergency service organizations
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, backpacking, weightlifting, video games, and baking.
On his bucket list are getting a pilots license, hiking the John Muir Trail, writing a novel, and learning to swing dance.
